About the Montreal Alouettes

The Montreal Alouettes were originally founded in 1946 and were very dominant in their early years. Between 1946 and 1981, the team won four Grey Cups. After the 1981 season, the team collapsed in 1982. They were soon reconstituted under new management and ownership and were renamed the Montreal Concordes. In 1987, the team folded again and afterwards there was a nine year hiatus for CFL football in Montreal.

In 1996, the present day Montreal Alouettes were established by the owners of the Baltimore Stallions. The Stallions were disbanding at the same time so many of their old players signed on to the new Alouettes team and made up their new roster.

Today, the Montreal Alouettes play all of their home games at the Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.

The last time the Alouettes won the Grey Cup was in 2010. The team’s colors are red, blue, silver and white.
