The Minnesota Wild is among the youngest sides in the league today and as such is still trying to get used to playing in the big leagues. In recent years they have showed great improvement and it seems they are finally getting to the level they have always aspired to. The Wild Side

The Wild were created in 1997 and played their first season three years later. The Minnesota area had already been home to the North Stars who had moved to Dallas in 1993 and so when the league announced plans to expand, the city jumped at the chance to restore an NHL team to the area.

The Wild started their campaign quite slow and it took them three years to record their first winning season record as well as qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history. They also managed to get to the conference finals at their very first try.

On the Attack

The Wild have been part of the NHL for fourteen years and in that time they have qualified for the postseason on six occasions. They have never gone past the conference finals stage; however in 2008 they did manage to win their first and only title to date, a division championship.
