In the season of 2004-2005, the team roster remained the same as that of the former season. However, some contract problems occurred within the team, and some important players such as Troy Hudson, Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell began to complain. At the time, Flip Saunders was coaching the team, but he left the team in the middle of the season. For the remainder of the season, Kevin McHale became their coach which led to the team missing the playoff game after eight years in a row of competing in the playoffs. The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs and won by one game only.

The uniform colors of the Minnesota Timberwolves include slate blue, black, white, light green and silver. The team currently has David Kahn as their general manager and Kurt Rambis as their head coach. They have not managed to win any championship games or conference titles as yet.
