Manchester Monarchs play in Manchester at Verizon Wireless Arena. They compete in Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. The Monarchs are affiliated with Los Angeles Kings and Ontario Region. The talented players of this team play under the directions of the head coach Mark Morris and general manager Ron Hextall.

Monarchs played the first game of their sports career against Lowell Lock Monsters. It was not their win but they won their next match against Norfolk Admirals. Manchester Monarchs is recognized as one of the most competitive teams in the division. In a short time span, they won their Atlantic Division Title. They compete against various ice hockey teams but the most memorable time for the Monarchs was 2006-07 season. Under the supervision of rookie head coach, the Monarchs were managed to win the Atlantic Division title for the second time. They got second highest points in the league.
They have won two Division Championships for the seasons 2004-05 and 2006-07. Manchester Monarchs won the home opener of 2010-11 season. They made their name in franchise history when two players of the Monarchs were awarded penalty shots simultaneously. Those players were Justin Azevedo and Brandon Kozun. Some of the other notable Monarchs include Brian Boyle, Ted Donato, Tim Jackman, Teddy Purcell, Jonathan Quick and many more. Besides their performance on the field, the Monarchs also run community programs including Monarchs Care Foundation, School Programs, Grant Programs and Donations. They serve the community through educational and recreational programs and financial support.
The other competent ice hockey team for the upcoming event, the Binghamton Senators play in New York at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. They are affiliated with Ottawa Senators and Elmira Jackals. The team plays against other teams under the guidance of its head coach Luke Richardson and general manager Tim Murray. They play in Eastern Conference in East Division. This ice hockey team got many talented and devoted team members. Some of the notable players are Denis Hamel, Bobby Butler, Ryan Keller, Brian Elliott, Patrick Eaves, Ray Emery and many others.
The Binghamton has played against various team including Manchester Monarchs, Portland Pirates and Charlotte Checkers. They have also won games against these teams when played in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Binghamton dominated two or three games of series and was also made their way to Calder Cup Finals. They are now recognized as the American Hockey League Calder Cup Champions 2011. Binghamton Senators won two Division Championships when played at 2002-03 and 2004-05 seasons. The Monarchs came to the NHL in 2000, when the AHL was acquired by Los Angeles Kings. This deal between the Manchester Hockey Group LLC and the Kings moved this franchise to Queen City. The team was headed by Howard Baldwin and the Monarchs launched themselves with a lion head logo in the fall of 2000. The next year Max, the fun loving lion was introduced to the team’s supporters as its Mascot. The team also stared contributing towards their community from the very start. Social causes and charities like the Monarchs Care Foundation and arm of the Monarchs were started off by the franchise in 2001.  Bruce Boudreau officially became the team’s first Head Coach. The Verizon Wireless Arena became the team’s home ground and training facility after the first thirteen games of their debut season.
Since the Monarchs came to the Kings, there was a great need to redo the team. It took the kings three months to restructure and overhaul the franchise. Jeff Eisenberg  joined as the as the first staff member; who along with staff help from the LA Kings helped set up and form the team.  The Monarchs are one of the most organized and well-structured teams today because of this effort.
The team’s first player joined in September 2001, Dane Jackson became the Caption and Bobby Jay the assistant coach. The Monarchs inaugural team hit the ice together for the first time at the JFK Coliseum against the Lowell Lock Monsters. The franchise lost the first game but came out triumphant when they won their first home game against the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2001. Every season thousands of Monarch fans flock to ice hockey venues all across the country to support their favorite team. The Monarchs have been applauded for their performance each season for the best attendance in the AHL.
The team has successfully completed elven season in the NHL. Their average performance has been commendable; the team has made it to the Calder Cup playoffs in ten season and have also been performing well in the Eastern Conference.  They have also hosted the 2004-05 NHL lockout as well as the Dodge AHL All-Star Classic in 2005 at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
