League of Legends World Championships Tickets

In 2003, the third installment of the popular video game Warcraft came out, and it was called “The Frozen Throne.” It featured a mode which let users create their own maps and one such map went on to become famous all over the world. It was “Defense of the Ancients” or DOTA. It further inspired several other games, the most popular of which proved to be the 2009, “League of Legends.” It took all the amazing aspects of DOTA, combined it with brand new characters and made slight improvements in game play to create a game that would be played by almost seventy million people each year. If you want to see some of its best players, then get your League of Legends World Championships tickets and have a great time.

Video games have been around for quite some time, with some of the earliest examples dating back to the fifties and sixties. During that period, they were primarily considered to be toys made for children and were presented as a fun and safe way of passing time. However it did not take long before they took on a life of their own. Today it is a multibillion dollar industry, with new entries being released almost daily. One game that has proved to be amongst the most popular video games in the world is the League of Legends. It has over sixty five million subscribers, with new people joining its community every passing day.

Waiting for a connection

During the early years, video game companies did not make any effort to attract the adult population to this new piece of technology and primarily focused on children. However, soon the children started to grow up and become adults themselves. They retained the fond memories they associated with these games and wanted to keep the feeling alive. This resulted in a complete overhaul of the video gaming industry during the eighties and nineties, with games becoming grittier and serious; leading to the creation of countless brilliant games, including the popular “Warcraft: Orcs & Humans” in 1994.

The game became a huge hit and resulted in several new sequels over the years. It was however the third installment in the series, called “Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos,” and in particular, its expansion titled “Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne” that is now considered revolutionary for multiplayer online battle arena video games. It led to the creation of the “Defense of the Ancients” (DOTA) in 2004 and in 2009 it gave birth to the League of Legends. If you want to check out this record breaking game played by its best players from around the world, then look no further. Team is ready

League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena video game that was developed in 2009. It was originally the idea of two roommates who formerly studied at the University of Southern California (USC). Their names were Brandon "Ryze" Beck and Marc "Tryndamere" Merrill and together they formed “Riot Games,” a video game development company. They then brought Steve "Guinsoo" Feak on board because of his extensive knowledge and his work on the original DOTA Warcraft map.

Together they wanted to replicate some of the awesome features of DOTA, primarily its super immersive game play, but they also wanted to do things a little differently by creating new characters and abilities to improve on the existing game. They wanted it to feel like a completely brand new game, with a new engine, as compared to DOTA, which was essentially an MOD for the Warcraft game.

Time to up a fight

Since its release the game has garnered a lot of attention and has seen its fan base grow like wildfire. Almost seventy million people play the game each year, with almost twenty seven million logging in every day. At its peak hours, the game can feature over seven million competitors engaged with each other. Its World Championship, set up in 2011, has seen viewership increase to over thirty five million last year, higher than most professional sports tournaments.

This year’s World Championship is once again set to be a world famous event, with teams from around the globe competing to be crowned the best. Sixteen teams are taking part, with three each from China, South Korea, Europe and North America, while the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau will feature two teams, along with two International Wildcard teams. If you want, you can catch each exciting leg of the competition for yourself. Just book your League of Legends World Championships tickets and watch this exciting event, live from the stands.
