Utah Jazz make it to the Playoffs – How are things looking?
A few days ago, it seemed like the Jazz would be playing against Houston. The idea made everyone panic in Jazzland. The other end of the spectrum, where the Jazz would play against Portland sounds much more intriguing, since the Portland side is missing some key pieces.
No matter who the Utah Jazz end up facing in the coming games, one thing is for sure- the team has shown resilience unlike anything else. Last year, no one thought that the Utah side would end up beating Oklahoma City Thunder with their stars such as Russell Westbrook and Paul George. But they beat Thunder 4-2 nevertheless.
This year, the Jazz are looking better than ever, with super-talented players such as Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert on their roster – all set to do some real damage. Rudy Gobert is having his best season ever, breaking record after record, including ones held by the legendary Karl Malone. With 17 points and 13 rebounds against the Phoenix Suns, Gobert recorded his 63rd point-rebound double-double of this year, crossing Malone’s 1987-88 record.
With players like this is the team, the Jazz might actually make it to the end this time!
Utah Jazz – Playoffs History
The Utah Jazz have made it to the playoffs 28 times, including the 2018-2019 season, that is currently ongoing. 28 years in the playoffs is not bad for a franchise that has been around for 45 years. The past two seasons have been great for the team. In the 2017-2018 season, the team went through the opening round, beating Thunder, 4-2, eventually losing out to the Rockets, 1-4. The year before that, the Jazz won the opening round 4-3, against the Clippers, only to lose 0-4 against the Warriors. They have made it to the NBA Finals on two occasions – 1997-1998 and 1998-1999. On both occasions, the team lost to the Bulls, 2-4. Their first ever appearance in the playoffs was in the 1983-1984 season, where they won the opening round against the Nuggets, 3-2 but eventually lost out, 2-4 to the Suns in the Conference Semi Finals.
