The Indiana Pacers were formed in 1967 in Indianapolis. A group of investors comprising John DeVoe, Richard Tinkham, Chuck DeVoe, Bob Collins and Chuck Barnes invested their money in forming this basketball franchise. In 1976 that the team became a part of the NBA following the NBA-ABA merger.In the early years of their inception, the Pacers played their home games at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum. In 1974, the team switched their home ground to the Market Square Arena.

It was in 1999 when the Indiana Pacers started playing at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, which was previously popular as Conseco Fieldhouse. The venue was formally opened for games in 1999 and the current name of the court was adopted in 2011. It can host approximately 18,165 attendees for an event. 

Herb Simon is the team’s present owner while Kevin Pritchard is the General Manager and Frank Vogel is their Head coach. Since their inception, the Pacers have won 1 Conference title, 3 Championships and 8 Division titles.
