Based in Oakland, California, USA, the Golden State Warriors is a professional basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association. It is a part of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the NBA. The team’s head coach is Don Nelson, General Manager is Larry Riley and is owned by Chris Cohan. Golden State Warriors was initially founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the year of 1946, and was titled as the Philadelphia Warriors. It was originally owned by Peter Tyrrell. In 1962, the franchise was moved to San Francisco and the team name was changed to San Francisco Warriors. It was not until 1971, when the team was relocated to its current location (Oakland, CA), changing its name to its current one – the Golden State Warriors.

Ever since 1966, the team has been playing its home games at the Oracle Arena, only with an exception of a one-year hiatus. The Warriors’ first league championship was earned in 1946-47 season, when it defeated the Chicago Stags. The team has also won two more championships in its history, which includes one more in Philadelphia subsequent to the 1955-56 season, and one under its current name after the 1974-75 season. The team gained much of the popularity under the name of Golden State Warriors in the 1970s. It was a time when the Warriors had become an instant hit across the nation, garnering huge number of fans from all around. All the success received during this era was due to Rick Barry, as it was him who led the team to an NBA championship in 1975.

The team has backed those credentials by plowing down their opposition in pretty dominant fashion. The Golden State Warriors relocated to San Francisco in 1962 but chose to call themselves Golden State Warriors to symbolize that they represent all of California i.e. ‘The Golden State’.

Who is the captain of the Golden State Warriors?

The Golden State Warriors have two captains, Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala.

Zaza Pachulia will avoid punishment from the NBA

It looks as though Zaza Pachulia will not be punished for his alleged stomping on the Thunder star Russell Westbrook. The incident took place on Saturday February 25, 2018 in a game that the Warriors’ won 112-80. Pachulia fell on Westbrook’s legs and some people including Westbrook was under the impression that Pachulia did it on purpose. Pachulia denies he did it on purpose though and now that he will not be reprimanded by the NBA. He is free to continue playing for the Warriors.

Stephen Curry is not ready to return just yet

Stephen Curry is not fit enough to return to the Golden State Warriors’ line-up just yet. He is being evaluated on a regular basis and the team management still thinks that he needs to rest for a few more days to come back fully fit. Curry is suffering from a sprain in his right ankle and he will be re-evaluated on Friday. He has missed the Warriors’ last nine games since injuring his ankle on December 4, 2017 but is making “good progress overall” as confirmed by the Golden State Warriors.

Steve Kerr is vary of complacency

The Golden State Warriors are the team to beat in the NBA right now. They have made it to the NBA Finals in each of the last three seasons and have won the title twice. Everyone thinks they will be the team to beat next season too but their coach, Steve Kerr is vary of complacency creeping in. This is what he had to say:"The biggest challenge is complacency." "We've been to The Finals three years in a row. And for our core group, I guess that would be four or five guys - Shaun and Andre, Steph, Klay, Draymond - that's a long haul and you just cannot lose your edge in this league."

He has every right to be thinking like he is because he knows that there is plenty of talent on the roster. If the Warriors play like they have been, then it is going to take something very special to stop them.

The Golden State Warriors are the NBA Champions

The Golden State Warriors are the new NBA Champions! In Game 5 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, the Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 to clinch their second NBA title in three seasons. More importantly, it also makes up for their gut wrenching loss to the same opponents in last year’s NBA Finals. The stars of the show were Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant as the Warriors once again scaled the NBA summit. They will be favorites to win the title next year too but right now it is their time to celebrate and they deserve it too because the Warriors have been the best team in the NBA this season.

Steve Kerr does not agree that the Warriors are the Favorites

The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will face off for the NBA Championship for the third time in as many years. The Warriors won the first series while the Cavaliers came back from a 3-1 deficit to clinch the NBA title last season.

The question right now is who will win this year? Well, a lot of people think that the Golden State Warriors will win the series and are the favorites. That is something Steve Kerr does not agree with. Kerr said:

“They’re the champions, we’re not. I just saw the quote from Kevin Love that he said he’s surprised, I’m surprised too. Like what the hell is everybody talking about? Are you kidding me? They’re a great team. They’re the champs. We’re trying to take what they took from us last year.”

Is Kerr just trying to take pressure off his team or he genuinely believes that?

The Golden State Warriors mount an epic comeback

In Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors looked dead and buried. Then Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs star got injured and the Warriors sniffed an opportunity to mount a comeback and they made the most of it. The Warriors had a 25 point deficit to overcome and they eventually managed to notch up a 113-111 win. Their 25 point turnaround was the biggest comeback wins of any conference final game since the year 2002. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry led the epic comeback and well now the Spurs have to show if they have got what it takes to handle this loss.

Who is number 11 on the Golden State Warriors?

The number 11 on the Golden State Warriors roster is none other than Klay Thompson. He joined the Warriors in 2011 as the 11th pick in the first round NBA draft. The shooting guard has been instrumental in the Golden State Warriors rise to the top of the NBA. He helped the franchise win the NBA title in 2015. Not only that, but the Klay Thompson has also made to the NBA All-Star team thrice. He is only 26 years old right now so his peak is still to come and that can only be good news for the Warriors.

Who is the captain of the Golden State Warriors?

Whereas most teams have one captain, the Golden State Warriors have somewhat bucked the trend to name two. The Warriors’ coach, Steve Kerr named Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala as the two captains of the franchise. Both players are extremely important to the team. Their contributions in helping the Warriors win the NBA title in 2015 cannot be understated. Without these two, it would have been very tough for the franchise to reach the top of the NBA for the first time since 1975.
