This series of racing was firstly formed in 1908, when an initiative was taken by William Kissam Vanderbilt with the prime motive of establishing a platform to showcase American racing on a global scale. In 1998, the F1 authorities had decided to host the Grand Prix event in the US after a gap of nine years. The very first inaugural grand prix race took place at the Indianapolis Speed Motorway in 2000, history was made at this time as a crammed arena of more than 200,000 fans witnessed the first ever Grand Prix event of America. Apart from outstanding drivers like Schumacher and Hamilton other notable names to have competed in these races include names like Alain Frost who has 51 total racing titles, the charismatic Brazilian Aryton Senna with 41 wins, Ruben Marcello who has a record closest margin of victory of .011 seconds, Kimi Raikkonen and many others. The excitement level at these formula one races is incredible, because these powerful ca’s have the capacity to go up to top speeds of 350/km per hour and are among fastest race cars of the world.
The Grand Prix of 2013 took place at Circuit of the America in Austin, Texas. This racing circuit extends to a distance of 3.427 miles and hosted some of the biggest racing events of the year including Le Mans Series, Rolex Sports Series, Australian V8 Super Cars Series and the Moto GP.
Formula One racing is the most prestigious, exciting and glamorous motor racing series of its kind and it is certainly the most admired and popular sporting series worldwide.
