FC Dallas has a more rich and pioneering history than any other sports team in the Dallas. The game of soccer was introduced in America by Lamar Hunt who attended the Soccer World Cup in England in 1966. He was so inspired by the game that he decided to bring the game to America. He formed the first Soccer Club of America in Dallas by the name of ‘Dallas Tornado’ and established North American Soccer League (NASL) in 1967. In 1992, America was the winner of Soccer World cup which was an achievement for Hunt who also initiated MLS in America. The legacy of Hunt is now carried forward by his sons and various fans and members of FC Dallas. The players of the team wear a patch with LH on it in the memory of Hunt.  
 
FC Dallas is one of the Major League Soccer teams based in Dallas. It is among one of the ten charter clubs of MLS.  It was operated by the name ‘Dallas Burns’ till 2005 when it changed to its present day name. Pizza Hut Park is the home ground of the team since 2005 when the team rebranded. It has a seating capacity for more than 21,000 people.
