In the 2000s Dallas Mavericks were lucky to be led by the Big Three; Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley and Steve Nash. This resulted into a tie for the Division Title in 2003 followed later by an outright victory in 2007. They also ticked the top position of Southwest Division in 2010. The team also won their first and only Western Conference title in 2006. Dallas Mavericks, being the competitive team of the conference has intense rivalries. Their rift with the former Dallas’ tenants; San Antonio Spurs has been quite heated. The point of contention remains to their Dallas Roots. San Antonio has been beating Mavericks down for a couple of years and Maverick can’t wait to set the records straight with them. The teams have been meeting each other in the playoffs and they matched up last in 2010.Mavericks have been on the bumpy road with Phoenix Suns. The rivalry seeded between the team in 2004 when Maverick lost their Point Guard Steve Nash to Suns. The same year Suns made their 62-20 record shining over being the best seed in NBA.
