Since his debut fight in the UFC in 2013, where he beat Marcus Brimage in just over a minute, McGregor has never looked back. That fight made McGregor realize he should be doing this for a living. So it wasn’t long before he signed with the Irish Cage of Truth Promotion and began training at the Straight Blast Gym in Dublin.

Beginnings of a Professional Career

Following success on the amateur circuit, McGregor first MMA fight as a professional came in the lightweight category, when he defeated Gary Morris. After several wins and a few losses in both lightweight and featherweight fight, McGregor was soon offered a contract by the UFC.
