The third Supporter Shield came to the Massive in 2009 ensuring their entry into the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the 2010-2011 CONCACAF Champions League.

The team has a massive followership in the region with three major supporter groups. These groups are "The Crew Supporters Union", "The Hudson Street Hooligans", and "La Turbina Amarilla". The club was initially owned by the epical Lamar Hunt and nowadays Clark Hunt is the owner. The Columbus Crew has German roots and that is why their supporter section is named as Nordecke which means north corner in German. This has been a recent development previously all the supporter group sat in their separate sections.
