The HP Bryon Nelson Championship is a golfing tournament which is on the PGA Tour list. This incredible tournament is conducted in May annually at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas which is at Las Colinas located in Irving in Texas in the United States of America. This golf championship is one of the two tournaments of PGA which is hosted in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It happens to be the only metropolitan venue that is a host to two events of the PGA.  
 
This golf tournament is one of the pioneer fundraiser event held for charity by the PGA Tour. So far, the event has generated over $121 million. This PGA tournament is the only tournament in the history of PGA that has been named after one of its former professional golfer, Bryon Nelson. Another event named after a golfer is the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Nelson was known for making regular appearances when the tournament used to take place before he passed away.
 
When the tournament first began, it was held and played in many different types of courses in Dallas. The first winner of the tournament in 1944 was Nelson. The 1944 event was held at the Lakewood Country Club. The event that took place in 1945 was then held at the Dallas Country Club. The event of 1946 was shifted back to Brook Hollow Golf Club.
 
From 1946 until 1956, the event was not held. But then two iterations of this golf sporting event took place in 1956. Both of these events were held at Preston Hollow Country. The event that took place in 1957 was shifted to Glen Lake Country Club. Since then, it was played at the Oak Cliff Country Club for nearly ten years. Finally in 1983, the sporting extravaganza was shifted to venues in Irving till today.
