The Brooklyn Nets

As the name suggests, The Nets are based in Brooklyn, New York. An NBA team which plays in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, the Nets was founded in 1967 and were the member of American Basketball Association (ABA). They were then called the New Jersey Americans. The next year, the team relocated to New York and was called the New York Nets. As members of the ABA, they won the ABA Championship twice. When ABA merged with NBA, the team became a member of the NBA and in 1977 was renamed the New Jersey Nets. In 2012, they were renamed the Brooklyn Nets. They play their home games at Barclays Center.

The Washington Wizards

The Wizards play in the Eastern Conference Southeast Division of the NBA. The Wizards were formed in 1961 as the Chicago Packers. In 1962, they were renamed the Chicago Zephyrs. In 1963, the team moved to Baltimore and was renamed the Baltimore Bullets. The Bullets then became the Capital Bullets in 1973. In 1974, the team was renamed the Washington Bullets, which were later renamed the Washington Wizards in 1997. In this way, The Wizards’ history is similar to the Nets’ history.
