In 1967 when its founders, Lien Chi Chang joined the performing arts academia in Taiwan, his son Danny Chang took charge. He formed a touring troupe of Chinese acrobats’ performers that consisted of a few family members and students under training. For more than twenty years the Golden Dragon Chinese Acrobats took its version of acrobats to other countries. These years brought to Danny Chang experience and a vision that he used later to remodel the Golden Dragon Chinese Acrobats after becoming the president.
 
With formal academic training and years of on job training under his father, Danny Chang was able to formulate a creative team of performers. He along with his wife designed and choreographed each act. He also remained a fairly active participant and performer of the Dragon Chinese Acrobats steering every show from start to end.
