His followers have turned up in big numbers to support him at almost every live performance or concert tour he has been a part of. Now they are patiently counting down the days till he releases his debut album. Aint no problems
Jeffrey Lamar Williams was born in 1991 and was s the youngest of ten children. He grew up listening to various hip hop stars, and started to hone his own rap skills. By the time he hit his teens, he had already started writing original material and had even performed for close friends and family. Soon after he decided he wanted to pursue rapping as a career, and set about trying to make his dream come true. He subsequently recorded and released his debut mixtape, titled “I Came from Nothing” in 2011.
Over the next year, he released two more mixtapes with the same name, and the “I Came from Nothing” trilogy eventually managed to attract the interest of record producers. One in particular, known as Gucci Mane was extremely impressed by the up and coming rapper, and signed him to his recording label, “1017 Brick Squad Records” in 2013.
Later that same year he released his fourth mixtape, called “1017 Thug” which was very well received by fans and critics alike. It made it on to Complex magazine’s ‘the 50 Best Albums of 2013’ list and the Guardian’s ‘Five Best Mixtapes of 2013’ list. It also made it the number five spot on the Rolling Stone’s ‘10 Best Mixtapes of 2013’ list.
Breaking the shackles
Ever since that time, Young Thug has been involved in fifteen mixtapes, with his latest effort, called “Slime Season 3” coming out in 2016. Three of those have managed to make it to the Billboard charts, with his 2015 release “Barter 6” and 2016 release “I’m Up”, both making it to number two. “Slime Season 3” made it all the way to number seven. It also managed to top the US Top Rap albums charts, as well as finish at number three on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
These days Young Thug is busy working on his upcoming debut album, which is going to be called “Hy!£UN35”. Its name is supposed to stand for “HiTunes” and it is slated to come out in a few months. The album will be a culmination of years of hard work, and to promote it, he has also announced his plans to head out on tour for his fans all across the country.
