Yeasayer is a psychedelic pop band from the United States of America. The band comes from Brooklyn in New York and was created in 2006. This music group comprises of Ahmed Gallab, Anand Wilder, Ira Wolf, Chris Keating and Jason Trammell.
Another main musical genre of the band includes experimental rock apart from psychedelic pop. The group has been actively a part of the music industry since 2006 till the present day. In early 2007, the three prominent members of Yeasayer, namely Anand Wilder, Ira Wolf and Chris Keating first came to prominence after making an appearance at the famous SXSW music festival. The first single of the band comprised of a double A-side of the songs “2080” and “Sunrise”. In October in 2007, the band released their debut album titled as All Hour Cymbals. This album of theirs was produced by the music record label We Are Free. In an interview to the press, the band explained their music to be “Middle Eastern psych snap gospel”.
In 2008, the band toured extensively with Man Man and also MDMT, they were supported by Beck. That very year, the group was seen performing at a rocking cappella concert which was open to the entire public. Moreover, they have played live in the famous Lollapalooza music festival, the Austin City Limits Festival, Sasquatch Music Festival, the Pitchfork Music Festival, Bonnaroo and also the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The group contributed to the benefit album for AIDS in 2009 which was known as Dark Was the Night. This album was produced by the acclaimed Red Hot Organization. In 2010, it gave a rocking live performance at the Coachella Music Festival, Lowlands Festival, the Dutch Pinkpop, and they also put up a live show in August in 2010 at the Australian music festival called Splendour in the Grass. The band explained that these were two different ideas which they could not put into their second album Odd Blood. In addition to this, Yeasayer has had many of their songs featured on some mega hit television shows such as The Good Wife, America’s Next Top Model and also 90210. It released a new song in May in 2012 called “Devil and the Deed”. This song premiered on Conon O’Brien’s famous late night talk show.
