Familiar to every living Japanese, it is an ancient instrument that has filled people with encouragement and inspiration since ancient times and continues to reverberate today through modern Japan.

Playing the Taiko is no easy feat, with drummers often kicking off the day with a ten mile long run, followed by training to be able to play a drum that is half a ton in weight.
