Before Well Fargo Center for seven years it was held at Wachovia Center. The Wing Bowl event that was held in the year 2007 was covered and aired on the ON Demand Channel of Comcast Cable. The Wing Bowl has a somewhat set pattern and those who want to take part in it have to go through the preliminary qualification, which means that they have to eat a number of different food items within a certain time limit that is given to them by a judge. During this time Bill Simmons was one contestant who won the event five times and his maximum record in a year was 154 chicken wings in 2003, Joey Chestnut is another contestant who won the Wing Bowl continuously for three years. Current champion is Jonathan Super Squibb who won this event in 2009 by eating 203 wings and again winning the title in 2011 by eating record 255 wings, in this event Squib beat former five time champion Bill Simmons by an amazingly narrow margin of just one wing.
