Wilco Asheville Tickets

Wilco is one of those bands that like to keep busy. While on their summer tour, the band announced a fall US tour as well with their latest album, “Schmilco”. The group is expected to launch the thirteen-date tour end of September and end in October in Asheville, North Carolina.  Tickets have been on sale since July 2017 and Wilco Asheville tickets are still available. Book yours and prepare for an exciting evening full of Wilco’s signature bluesy-rock music, moving lyrics and performances that will stay with you for a long time.

Schmilco

Wilco’s tenth studio album projects the band’s sensitive side with largely acoustic, personal songs penned by lead vocalist Jeff Tweedy. While most of it was written around the same time as last year’s quirky “Star Wars”, the tone of this album is starkly different. With low-stakes musical arrangements and pure balladic lyrics, “Schmilco” is a mature, sensitive record. The songs are diverse in subject matter and are a well-rounded account of life in general.

“Normal American Kids” is a recounting of adolescence and the angst associated with it. “Happiness” on the other hand is an existentialist piece of work, with the harrowing one-liner “Happiness depends on who you blame”. The album also contains songs such as “Cry All Day” in which the band passionately belts their guts out in a live session. This song is reminiscent of the 1980’s pop and channels the youthful restlessness that acts such as Tears for Fears or Bruce Springsteen would outlay.

Wilco

Wilco quickly created a place for themselves in the newly emerging alt-country tradition of the late 90’s. Their first defining album, 2002’s “Yankee Foxtrot Hotel” became an instant success. With haunting piano-driven music, Tweedy’s signature voice created dark undertones on this record, giving a whole new dynamic to country music.

Since then, the band has released ten studio albums, with their latest, “Schmilco” launched at the end of 2016. At present, the band is planning a thirteen-date fall tour across the U.S, with a closing show in Asheville. Wilco Asheville tickets for this finale show are on sale now.
