Manuelle is contemporary in style and stance, he is known for salsa monga or the salsa romantic. He has blended a wide range of styles in his efforts; his works exemplify everything from Reggaeton to Colombian vallenato and much more. Unlike his contemporaries or salsa singers in the past, Manuelle has stuck to his roots. He has neither made any bi-lingual efforts nor crossed over to Latin pop. He has continuously played his music tied to the salsa culture, sound and impressions in the past and plans to carry on in this mode in the future.
From Puerto Rico to the Bronx in NYC, Victor’s youth years were surrounded by great enjoyed salsa music. He was deeply inspired by the festive sound that pushed him to take up singing as a career. An accidental performance with the Gilberto Santa Rosa at his high school's graduation party took Santa Rosa by surprise. Victor proved himself as gifted singer with a unique free-style. He also showed off his improvisational soneo lyrics and exchanged soneos with Rosa that left him more than impressed by this potent youth. Santa Rosa recommended Manuelle to Don Periñon whom he started working as a backup singer. The apprenticeship allowed him to grow in many ways and in a matter of years, Victor was all set to hit mainstream.
With the dawn of the new millennium Víctor Manuelle entered Latin music mainstream and came out as a record-selling salsa singer of that time. His studio efforts were commercial hit that sold over one million copies in the U.S. alone. A trio of albums namely Inconfundible (1999), Instinto Y Deseo (2001) and Travesía (2004) became hits on top charts like the Billboard overall Top 200 Albums chart and Latin Album chart. Most of the songs scored the top slots and some became #1 Latin hits.
The live side Manuelle remained dormant when he became an active recording artist. However, it was Celia Cruz's funeral in St. Patrick's Cathedral where his live side and vocal strength became visible. He swept many off their feet by singing "La Vida Es Un Carnaval" as a tribute to the great singer on her funeral ceremony. This song became a hit when televised and was later played with an orchestra at the Carnegie Hall in 2004. In the fall of 2005, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Manuelle joined hands for a collaborative live album titled Dos Soneros, Una Historia. Recorded and released in Pueto Rico it inspired the artist to create his first ever solo live album. Víctor Manuelle En Vivo: Desde El Carnegie Hall was his dream come true and was very well received by fans and critics alike.
Manuelle’s tenth studio release Decisión Unánime came out in 2006. While working on his portfolio Victor also worked with radio stations to broadcast his live concerts. The "KQ Live Concert" 2008 which was a combined effort of the KQ 105 FM and Victor. The event was very special as it included a lineup featuring renowned Puerto Rican and Latin singers from many other countries. It was a massive hit throughout Mexico all the way to South America.
Puerto Rican diva, Yolandita Monge called Manuelle for his first time collaboration in 2008, If was for a duet on the album Mala for the song titled "Oportunidad Perdida". The song went really well amongst the public and critics and Manuelle got great appraisal from his fans all over Latin America. The same year, Manuelle released a studio album Soy. In 2009, the artist released his album titled Muy Personal. The album was thematically romantic but more intense and philosophical talking about love, lust, infidelity, trust etc. He also give in-depth explanation dot songs through interludes that help the listener relate it to his life.
