The start of a special journey
U2s journey began in Dublin on September 25, 1976. They started off by performing on a relatively smaller scale and that gave them an idea about what it takes to perform live. U2 then came out with “Boy,” their first album in 1980. The record received a lot of praise from the critics but commercial success still eluded it. A lot of groups might have dropped their shoulders but U2 did not do that. They kept working and their luck turned in 1983.
They released “War” that year and it topped charts in the UK. “The Unforgettable Fire” followed a year later and then came “The Joshua Tree” in 1987. The album went to the top the charts in both the US and the UK and also won a couple of Grammys. The Joshua Tree is now a diamond certified album in the US.
