Tye Tribbett Tickets
Born in Camden, New Jersey, on January 26, 1976, Tye Tribbett’s music has been described by gospelflava as an ‘invitation to worship’. This gospel singer and song-writer started creating highly energetic gospel songs more than a decade ago. In the late nineties, Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing aka G.A. joined together to form an ensemble. Their big break came when they were asked by country singer Faith Hill to provide backing vocals on her 2000 Tour. Bringing a fresh perspective and sound to an otherwise country offering, Tribbett got his first taste of the touring circuit. Since his collaboration with Faith Hill, Tye Tribbett has released 6 albums. The gospel singer is currently on his Bloody Win tour with JJ Hairston. You can get Tye Tribbett tickets from here.

Tribbett and his Gospel Roots
Tye Tribbett comes from a religious and musical household. Growing up in a Pentecostal Church, Tribbett’s father was a pastor and his mother was a minister. Tribbett remembers that he would invite other talented artists to his house where they would jam in the garage. Tribbett’s first song was Lean on Me which he played with one finger on the organ. As he got more proficient, Tribbett began playing with both hands. He added harmony to his music and began playing at Church. It was at this point in his life Tribbett realized that he wanted to be a gospel singer. His garage band slowly added more instruments and before he knew, he began adding some words to the music. The music they practiced in their garage became a performance at the Church the next day.
The Tribbetts have a strong gospel music legacy. Tye Tribbett’s mother, in addition to being a minister, was also a disk jockey of some note in the Philadelphia area. His paternal grandmother, just like his father, was also a pastor. Tye Tribbett is married to Shante Tribbett who was also a member of the Greater Anointing. His brother Thaddaeus performs in the band Soundcheck and currently performs with artist Estelle as her bassist. One of Tribbett’s sisters was also a part of the Greater Anointing. The Tribbett household nurtured the right combination of religion and music. This gave Tribbett the perfect early platform to develop his talent as a gospel musician. Tribbett, along with his choir, started participating in competitions. It was after winning a couple, Tribbett and his choir was asked to contribute to the soundtrack of the animated feature The Prince of Egypt.
Albums & Accolades
Since his contribution to the soundtrack of the animated film The Prince of Egypt, Tye Tribbett has released six albums. His first album came out in 2004 and was titled Life. Tribbett, along with the Greater Anointment were hailed as the most acclaimed acts on the Gospel music scene. If their debut album had introduced the talent of these passionate musicians to the world, their follow up album Victory took it one step further. Released in 2006, Victory debuted at number one on the Billboard Gospel Chart. The album was nominated for three Grammys and bagged three Stellar Awards. For Victory, Tye Tribbett and G.A. were joined by a host of gospel stars. These included Israel Houghton, Kim Burrell, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker and Mary Mary.
The 2008 album Stand Out became Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing last collaboration. The album topped the charts and was hailed by many as their best effort to date. 2010 saw Tye Tribbett go solo with the release of Fresh. Many within the industry called the effort ground breaking. Tribbett wrote or co wrote almost all of the songs on the album. Fresh was a commercial success with it debuting at number one on the Gospel Album Chart. 2014 turned out to be a great year for Tye Tribbett. His 2013 release Greater Than won Best Gospel Album and his song If He Did It Before … Same God (Live) won Best Gospel Song at the Grammys. This marked a high point in Tye Tribbett’s career. In his acceptance speech, a visibly excited Tribbett thanked his family and God for support. He also talked about speaking kind words to those who need it the most.
