Travis Tritt was born in the city of Marietta in Georgia in 1963, his full name is James Travis Tritt. He was interested in music from an early age and his parents bought him a guitar when he was just eight years old. Tritt learned most of the basic guitar techniques by himself and then he was further taught by his uncle who was a musician. While still a young boy he started performing in the local church choir and when Tritt was in high school he founded a bluegrass band with his friends. While in his early twenties Travis Tritt was performing in local clubs and during this time he was spotted by Danny Davenport who was working as an executive for Warner Bros Records who send the music tapes of Travis to Warner Bros Nashville divisions and eventually Travis Tritt was signed in the year 1987. Travis is a talented artist in the true sense as he is a singer, banjo and guitar player, songwriter and last but not the least an actor.

Travis Tritt during his career has released eleven studio albums, five compilation albums and forty singles. Throughout his career he has remained under contract with Warner Bros Nashville except for his last album. He is among the very few country music artists who gained immense popularity from the release of the first album. Country Club was his first release that earned a gold certification in Canada and 2x platinum in the US. Travis Tritt went on to release three more multi platinum albums namely It’s All About Change, T-R-O-U-B-L-E and Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof.  These three albums also respectively landed at #2, #6 and #3 on US country charts. He didn’t just stop here and churned out two more platinum albums called The Restless Kind and Down The Road I Go. The latest album till date by Travis Tritt is The Storm, this is the only album of Tritt till date that was released by Category 5 Records and this album also managed to land at #3 on both US Country and Independent album charts and on #28 on US Billboard. Travis Tritt has received several nominations for prestigious awards and out of these he has won Grammy Awards namely for Best Country Collaborations with Vocals twice. He won the Billboard Top New Male Artist Award in the year 1990.Travis Tritt is also the winner of Country Music Association Award three times in the same category for Vocal Event of the Year.
