About Travis Tritt
James Travis Tritt is a renowned American country singer and songwriter. His debut album Country Club was released back in 1990. Its title song hit the country Top 10 while other singles such as I’m Going to be Somebody and Help Me Hold On also hit the top of the charts.
Tritt then brought on board Ken Kragen as his manager since he knew a lot of people in the Nashville music circuit. This gave a boost to Tritt’s career. In 199,1 he released the mega hit album It’s All About to Change. It was declared triple platinum and won the singer two prestigious awards – a Grammy and a Country Music Association Award.
The following year came the release of the double-platinum certified record – T-R-O-U-B-L-E. It featured singles such as Can I Trust You With My Heart and Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man which peaked at the Billboard charts. The rest of the 1990s did not see the same level of success for Tritt. However he released moderately successful albums such as Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof in 1994, The Restless Kind in 1996 and No More Looking Over My Shoulder in 1998.
Tritt then left Warner Bros and signed up with Columbia Records on which he released his album Down the Road I Go in the year 2000. Its single Best of Intentions hit the number one position on the Billboard charts. Tritt released his next two albums Strong Enough and My Honky Tonky History via Columbia Records and then owing to some creative differences with the label, he moved on to Category 5 Records. His 2010 album titled The Storm, an R&B, blues and soul infused record was released via this label.
Tritt has hit the Hot Country Songs chart over 40 times. He is the proud recipient of several awards and honors. These include Grammys and Country Music associations Awards. Besides, he has been a member of the esteemed Grand Ole Opry. His sound is unique in the sense that he has refrained from conforming to the traditional country music. He has performed several hit rock style concerts and has received praise for the same. Besides, singing, he is a talented actor who has made appearances in various TV movies. He also has his own publishing company by the name of Post Oak.
About Charlie Daniels
Charlie Daniels formed the Charlie Daniels Band in 1970 and recorded his first solo self-titled album the following year. In the year 1972, the band recorded an album which was named after the nicknames of the members – ‘Te John, Grease and Wolfman.’
Daniel’s first major work was the 1974 record titled Fire on the Mountain. The album received Platinum certification from the RIAA. It featured songs including Orange Blossom Special and Long Haired Country Boy. The year 1979 saw the release of the multi-platinum record Million Mile Reflections. It is most famous for the single The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The musician dedicated the record to Ronnie Van Zant, a fellow musician who passed away in 1977.
The 1980 album Full Moon gave two major hits – The Legend of Wooley Swamp and In America. The band dedicated this record to the music artist Tommy Caldwell who died the same year. Most controversial of Daniels’ works is the 1989 album Simple Man. People were shocked at the lyrics of some of the songs on this record and Daniels was even asked to give an explanation. Nonetheless, the album received Platinum certification.
The 1996 album Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel won Charlie Daniels Band a Grammy in the category of Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album.
