Toubab Krewe Tickets

This unique American band, that goes by the name of Toubab Krewe , plays music that is as stylish and as sensational as its name. In fact, the kind of music that this band plays is quite unlike the music of any other American band out their. In fact, this is a band that defines the meaning of a band without borders, a band that has crosses borders and fused music from two different countries and two different cultures. Toubab Krewe’s music is a blend of music from the south of the US and music from Mali, a country in Africa. This band’s instruments are also very unique; these include a kora, which is basically a twenty one string harp and lute instrument, kamelengoni, an instrument much like the kora, souk a fiddle made out of horsehair from Mali, electric guitars and bass guitar, a sensational drum set and lastly, African percussion instruments.

Toubab Krewe provides a mix of the traditional African music as well as both traditional and modern American music. Thus for a glimpse of truly cultural music, simply get hold of Toubab Krewe tickets and go watch these guys play all these historical instruments live. In fact, you can hardly find a band that plays this kind of music, something that is truly needed in these troubled times. This band makes use of music to join to cultures and to also create awareness of African culture, in which much of modern music originates.Toubab Krewe originates from Asheville in the state of North Carolina. It first began playing music back in 2005 and has since then gone on tour all over the US. What make this band’s even more epic is the fact that the band has actually been to Mali and collaborates with local artists in this African country. The band’s name means ‘foreigner crew’ with the word Toubab form the language of Mali, a West African country, and Krewe being how people in New Orleans spell and pronounce the term Crew.

The band’s first album was a self titled release back in 2005 through Upstream Records in their hometown. This was followed by the album TK2, in 2010, after the band had been signed on to the Nat Geo Music Label, a record label owned by the National Geographic Society, behind the famous National Geographic Magazine and the Nat Geo TV channels, formerly the National Geographic TV channels. This shows that is truly a sample of cultural and traditional music by a band signed on by the best known name in nature, geography, cultue and Africa as a whole.

This National Geographic band, Toubab Krewe, has had as its producer Steven Heller, who produced both the band’s two albums. This epic cultural band that represents West African music has not only released albums but has also performed at many shows in many of the biggest music festivals in America. Some of these festivals include Manchester Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, MagnoliaFest, MerleFest,High Sierra Music Festival, Vegoose, 10,000 Lakes Festival,Lotus World Music and Art Festival, Mali’s Desert Music Festival, Music on the Mountaintop, Rothbury Music Festival, Bear Creek Music Festival, Jam Cruise 8 and Voodoo Experience. These are but some of the festivals this spectacular band has played music at in a career that spans over five years.

In today’s world of music, bands and artists alike can only be seen playing modern music that is made up of common lyrics and that is hardly different from what the next band plays. But for this band, music is an art and like other professions, it can only be made better by looking at it from an artistic viewpoint. Thus did this band come up with the idea of playing music that was a fusion of American music and West African music, specifically from Mali. By doing so, this American band is showing people what this African country is all about while at the same time displaying some unique mindblowing music that you definitely must listen, through Toubab Krewe tickets.
