According to the duo, Steve and his wife Deb Talan started writing and singing from the very first night they met. Due to their unique compositions, they have managed to sell almost one million records around the world. They have also received around seventeen million online streams on Spotify and around twenty million views on their YouTube channel.
The Weepies’ songs have also been used in different mediums. They have been licensed for a number of movies such as Sex and the City, Adam, and Morning Glory. They have also been included in various episodes of different hit TV series like How I Met Your Mother, Pretty Little Liars, Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Up All Night, Everwood, and Life Unexpected. Other than this, the songs have been used in advertising campaigns for J.C. Penney and Old Navy as well as President Barrack Obama’s presidential campaign back in 2008.
The duo has released four studio albums, six singles, five music videos, and have gone on three tours around the world. They are currently working on their latest album, Sirens. Their first album Happiness was released in 2003. After signing with Nettwerk, they released their second album Say I Am You in 2006 and their third album Hideaway in 2008. Hideaway was their first album to be ranked on the U.S Billboard 200 and it peaked at thirty one. Two years later, they released their fourth album Be My Thrill which was ranked at number thirty four on the Billboard 200.
Soon after this release, Deb Talan was diagnosed with third degree breast cancer. In 2014, Deb recovered from her ailment and The Weepies returned even more powerful than before. Having regained their focus, they recorded the sixteen song album Siren.
The Weepies have released a number of moving ballads. Some of their top efforts are World Spins Madly On, Please Speak Well of Me, I Was Made for Funny Days, Nobody Knows Me at All, and Take It From Me.
The duo is going on yet another tour that will hit North America in the beginning of July. The tour will hit twenty eight cities across the country as they support their latest album.
