MC Lyte rose to mainstream exposure with her second album, which also spawned her hit single “Cha Cha Cha”. >Kurtis Blow doesn’t need any introduction whatsoever as he was the first rapper who emerged back in the 80s and helped rap music to become a commercially acceptable genre. Blow became the first rapper ever who signed a deal with a major record label, and his debut album was the first rap album ever to be released on major label. So amongst list of some of the forefathers of rap music, Kurtis Blow takes the top spot. Naughty by Nature got a hold on some mainstream fan base with their catchy tunes pretty early in their career. Formed back in 1986 in East Orange, NJ, Naughty by Nature is not a name unknown to all the hardcore rap fans out there. Kool Moe Dee kicked off his musical career by being a member of a hip hop group named Treacherous Three, but later he decided to pursue a solo career. Known for his extremely fast flow, Kool Moe Dee has given some fine singles and albums ever since he started his solo career in 1986.
