In 2004, the Last Vegas made their debut as a recording artist with “Lick ‘Em and Leave ‘Em”, their first full length studio album. The album was released on Get Hip Records, an independent label, and helped garner some minor attention towards the band in the underground hard rock music scene. Almost two year after in 2006, the band came up with yet another full length album titled Seal the Deal on Get Hip records once again. Since the band wasn’t able to cause any mainstream buzz with their albums, they decided to ditch the Get Hip records and went on to self release an EP titled High Class Trash. Prior to releasing the album, the band recruited Chad Cherry as its new lead vocalist, so this was also their first release along with their new vocalist. The band mainly released the E.P to help promote their song “Raw Dog Master”, which was previously featured in Guitar Hero II, a well celebrated video game.

After releasing the EP in 2007, the band went on to self release their self titled third full length studio album in January 2008. Due to lack of promotion, both the EP and the album, didn’t manage to do much on mainstream for the band. The band really broke through when they took part in Guitar Center’s On Stage: Your Chance to Make Rock History contest and came out victorious. As promised, the band landed their first recorded deal with the Eleven Seven Music in addition to winning $20,000 worth of Gibson gear, $25,000 in cash along with a chance to open for Motley Crue. This really made way for the band to show their mettle off to the larger audience and with proper promotion. Also in the same year, the band was also crowned with the title of Best New Discovery at SXSW.

After opening for Motley Crue on their Saints of Los Angeles tour, the Last Vegas made its major label debut with their fourth full length album titled Whatever Gets You Off. Produced by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and Marti Frederiksen, Whatever Gets You Off helped the band the kind of exposure they’ve been wanting and deserving. Although there was some new material as well, but the album mostly contained tracks from their previous self released album. After achieving the mainstream exposure, the band went on tour with a number of renowned hard rock acts, apart from their own headlining worldwide tour.
