The Grateful Dead Tickets

The hippie movement of the sixties gave rise to a counterculture in society as people started to reject the established order to introduce new ideas to their lives. That had a profound impact on the music world as a whole, as musicians also started experimenting with their sounds, to try and come up with something unique. One band that kept pushing the boundaries even in their later years was the Grateful Dead, perhaps one of the greatest rock bands to have ever performed.

With fifty years of experience at the very top of the music industry, the Grateful Dead have achieved almost everything in their long and illustrious career in the business and they are not done yet. With over thirty five million albums sold all over the world, the band has enjoyed a large fan following who have dubbed themselves ‘Deadheads.’

They have also been known for their amazingly interactive live performances and have toured in all major countries around the world quite a few times, playing over two thousand concerts to date. Now they are planning another live tour and here is the chance that all their fans have been waiting for. Grab the Grateful Dead tickets and catch these legends perform, live on the stage.

Over the years, the band has featured several major musicians who have made their share of contribution to the success of the band. Their longest running members have been Jerry Garcia (lead guitar, vocals), Bob Weir (rhythm guitar, vocals), Phil Leash (bass guitar, vocals) and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), all of whom played till the band’s disbandment after the death of Garcia in 1995. Mickey Hart has also been member of the group for almost the entire time as their second drummer.

The Grateful Dead was formed when Phil Lesh and Jerry Garcia came together to play at a local radio station. They were known as the Warlocks back then and played some of their first few shows under that name till they changed it to the Grateful Dead in 1965. Garcia is credited with the name, having picked it from the dictionary.

The band started off by playing several psychedelic rock concerts as well as at events that catered to primarily the Hippie generation that had gained so much popularity at the time. Those stints got them the attention they needed and in 1967 they managed to release their first, self titled album to rave revues from audiences all over the world. They also managed to make it to the US music charts and that paved the way for all their future releases. All in all, the Grateful Dead have released thirteen albums in total with some of those consisting live recorded material that would go on to become the group’s signature years down the line.

All their albums have made it on to the Billboard charts, with twelve finishing in the top thirty on the music charts. They also have eight gold and one platinum album to their credit. The Grateful Dead have also managed to record multi-platinum sales on three separate occasions to cement their place up there among the best in the business. Their most successful album to date was titled “In the Dark” and it came out in 1987. It made it to the number six spot on the Billboard charts and was also certified two times platinum in the US and platinum in Canada.

The Grateful Dead will celebrate their fiftieth anniversary this year and will mark the occasion by hitting the road for what should be one of their most epic road trips ever. The tour will bring these Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees back on to the stage, doing what they do best. You can now join them for this unique experience as well. Grab the Grateful Dead tickets and make your way to an arena near you to catch one of the best rock bands of all time, live in concert.
