Top three albums by iconic alternative rock act The Cure

The Cure’s hallmark gloomy and tormented music carved a unique niche for the band among the gothic, punk and alternative rock music fans. Many of their albums have charted on “The Billboard 200” and the band continues to churn out new music to this date. Here we take a closer look at the band’s top three albums.

Disintegration (1989)

There is intense debate among post-punk fans whether The Cure’s 1989 album Disintegration was one of the greatest albums of the 80’s. The album already ranks among the Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and has a fairly decent ranking on “The Billboard 200” at number twelve.

Wish (1992)

For Wish it proved hard to top the overwhelming success of its predecessor Disintegration. However, the album did manage to beat it on the Billboard charts snagging the number two spot. The project also yielded the up tempo, number one Modern Rock Track “Friday I’m in Love.”

4:13 Dream (2008)

People who thought that the band was done producing any good music after their zenith in the late 80’s had another thought coming. The Cure surprised listeners and critics alike with this album that proved to be one of the band’s strongest and consistently upbeat projects charting among the top twenty on “The Billboard 200.”

Fans can expect The Cure to treat them to some of their greatest hits from these albums and more, on their upcoming gigs featuring the Twilight Sad. The Cure Chicago tickets are likely to be an absolute treat for the more ardent fans of the band.
