The Black Keys
The proficient duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney started off as an independent act in a basement. Producing several records on their own, The Black Keys emerged as a highly popular garage rock band. Drawing influence from Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Johnson and Junior Kimbrough, The Black Keys are known for producing exceptional raw blues rock sound that is unique to them. It was during the revival of rock music that The Black Keys reached the pinnacle of success and continued producing music infused with innovative beats and catchy tunes.
After their debut album “The Big Come Up” in 2002 through the indie record label Alive, The Black Keys headed on to greater heights of fame with their successive albums.
Their third album “Rubber Factory” hit the shelves in 2004, being their first one to chart on the Billboard 200 and boosted the band’s profile resulting in a deal with Nonesuch Records. The major breakthrough came with their album “Attack & Release” in 2008 that ranked at number 14 on Billboard 200.
Another feather in the cap was the release of their track “Tighten Up” in 2001 that won three Grammy Awards. Their popularity peaked when the album “El Camino” came out in 2011 and was placed at the 2nd spot on the Billboard 200. After their latest album “Turn Blue” hit the shelves in 2014 in collaboration with Danger Mouse, the fans were highly impressed with the work they had put in making it no less than a masterpiece.
Ever since its formation in 1992, Modest Mouse has developed a separate niche that distinguishes it from the indie rock counterparts. With its elliptical music and longer songs, the band sets apart itself from others and the fans are quite impressed with it.
Quite interestingly, the band name is derived from the story “The Mark On The Wall” by Virginia Woolf that talks about Modest Mouse colored people who are genuinely not fond of listening to their own praise.
Titled “This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About”, Modest Mouse’s debut album took the music scene by storm after its release in 1996. The band rose to greater heights of fame with their album “Good News For People Who Love Bad News” and ranked high on the main charts. The album’s hit track “Float On” topped the Modern Rock charts while another song “Ocean Breathes Salty” landed at the 6th spot.
Their latest album “Strangers To Ourselves” hit the shelves in 2015 and peaked to number 3 on the Billboard 200. Expanding its fan base with each passing year, the Modest Mouse has been on many tours that drew attention of media and attracted many music enthusiasts.
Repeat Repeat blends sixties pop with Warholian garage rock to create unique music. Comprising of lead vocalist Jared Corder, drummer Andy Herrin and keyboardist Kristyn Corder, Repeat Repeat debuted with the album “Bad Latitude” in 2014.
After the band’s sophomore album “Floral Canyon” added depth to their music, Repeat Repeat became widely known in the music industry. The album being a salute to California’s Laurel Canyon is a true depiction of modern culture and revolves around rocky relations and religious ideologies. The theme of the album became quite popular through its melodic touch that accentuated with trembling organ and syncing harmonies with guitars. Having a sound that is not just bold but vintage as well, Repeat Repeat provides an unforgettable experience to all the fans with its songs.
