The Allman Brothers Band Tickets
The band's inception took place in the year 1969 by Gregg Allman and Duane Allman, who were brothers. Duane Allman was previously a session man, and used to perform with musicians such as Wilson Pickett and Aretha Franklin. Gregg Allman was a keyboard player as well as a vocalist, and together with his brother, they formed several bands before they finally settled with the Allman Band Brothers Band. The first band that the brothers formed was named the Escorts. It was a rock and roll band which they formed in the year 1966. After this, they formed another band which was called the Allman Joys. This was a blues band which produced a combination of blues and rock music. The band broke up soon, and they formed yet another band after this, this time a soul band. The name of the group was Hour Glass and it was created in 1967. The band released two albums which got good reviews by the critics. However, they broke up in 1968 because the albums were not selling as much as they had hoped. After this, the brothers finally formed the Allman Brothers Band in 1969. The group consisted of both the Allman brothers as well as Berry Oakley on bass, Richard Betts on guitars, and Jai Johanny Johanson and Butch Trucks on drums. Soon after their inception, the band was offered a contract with the recording label called Capricorn Records.
The band released their first album with Capricorn Records. The album was named The Allman Brothers Band, and managed to get good reviews from the critics. It did not sell too well in the beginning even though the song Whipping Post from the album later became one of their most popular songs ever. The fan base of the group began to increase, and they released their second album the year 1970. The album was called Idlewild South, and became more popular than their first album, selling more and getting better reviews. The songs In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and Midnight Rider went to become favorites with the audience. They released their next album in 1971, and it was titled Live At The Fillmore East. The album became a huge hit and is still regarded as one of the best rock albums of all times. The album contained amazing vocals by Gregg Allman and some outstanding guitar interplay between Betts and Duane.
Only three months after the release of the album, on the 29th of October, 1971, Duane had a motorcycle accident and was injured badly. He refused to be treated at a hospital, and died a few hours after the accident. The group had been in the process of recording their next album when this tragedy struck. Betts took over Duane's guitar parts and the band managed to complete the album, releasing it under the title of Eat a Peach. Between the years 1971 and 2005, the band has achieved 5 platinum and 11 gold albums and in the year 1995, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were also placed at the fifty-second spot on the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list by Rolling Stone magazine in 2004. The band has achieved a Grammy Award for the Best Rock and Instrumental Performance for their performances of the song Jessica in the year 1996.

Initially founded in Jacksonville, Florida, the band remained based for most of the time in Macon, Georgia. It was formed in 1969 by the Allman brothers Duane and Gregg, thus giving it its name. Duane played slide and lead guitars, while Gregg played organ, supported vocals as well as wrote songs. The Allman Brothers were also accompanied in their band by Dickey Betts who played lead guitars apart from vocals and song writing, Berry Oakley on bass guitars and Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny Jamoe Johanson on drums. The band is said to be the designer of Southern Rock style of music, but their music also contains colors from other genres like country, jazz and blues.
The band was formed after Allman brothers and some of their associates who had already been in the music industry joined forces after being unsuccessful initially. They released their first album The Allman Brothers Band in 1969 that received a good response from public. This album also contained a song Whipping Post that was later considered as a standard for jam music. Encouraged by success of their first album, the band released their second studio album Idlewild South in 1970 that received an even better commercial response and won the band a position among the mainstream music industry at that time. After releasing some hit singles, The Allman Brothers Band released another album named At Fillmore East that claimed great success in terms of sales as well as critical reviews. It was also ranked at number 49 among The 500 Greatest Albums of All Times by The Rolling Stone. This album contained songs sung in genres of hard rock, classical music, jazz and blues. Although the band was doing good business, it was closed down in 1971 after a farewell concert at Fillmore East.
Soon after the band was shut down and their Fillmore East album was rated as Gold by RIAA, Duane Allman succumbed to a traffic accident. It was undoubtedly a huge loss to the music industry. The remaining members of band later on decided to continue singing together, and released a studio album Eat a Peach in 1972 that also contained some incomplete work of Duane Allman completed later by Dickey Betts. The album was a commercial success, although its significance for the band members as well as the fans was more of emotional than commercial.
Chuck Leavell joined the band later that year and specialized in piano. Though he did not directly replace Duane, but was definitely a significant addition to the band. Another loss that The Allman Brothers Band had to suffer soon was death of their long time companion, Berry Oakley. Lamar Williams replaced Oakley who proved to be a good addition to the band and helped them complete their next album Brothers and Sisters. The band was also becoming increasingly popular in terms of attendance at their concerts, one of the most remarkable being Summer Jam at Watkins Glen near New York in 1973.
In mid 1970s, the band was struggling to keep its members together owing to the personality clashes among them. Greg Allman tried his level best but remained unsuccessful in keeping the band united, but could not do so after being arrested on drug charges in 1976 and The Allman Brothers Band was broken. Later on, they reunited transiently for a couple of times, like in 1978 and 1986, but could not work together for long. It was in 1989 that The Allman Brothers Band was reformed, and has continued paying consistently ever since, reclaiming their fan following and giving music lovers some quality rock music.
The Allman Brothers Band has been one of the trend setting bands in history, serving music industry in more than one ways. Their fan base as well as devotion to entertain the audience with quality music ensures The Allman Brothers Band Tickets sale to be successful commercially.
The Allman Brothers Band was founded in 1969 in Jackson Florida by talented duo of brothers Gregg Allman and Duane Allman, both of them had been playing music since early age and worked on different projects like forming a garage band Escort in 1963. In 1972 Eat a Peach was released with a slightly different more Bluesy tone and Betts fill in for Duane, another tragedy stuck when bassist Oakley also died in a road accident.
The band was going successfully but in the mid 70’s tensions started between band members citing music differences plus members went into drugs resulting in the band not performing up to the mark. In 1979 the band tried to regain its foothold, with new members guitarist Dan Toler and bassist David Goldflies, they released a much improved album Enlightened Rouges but this could not help in the band’s decreasing popularity and as a result the Allman Brothers was disbanded in 1982. After some solo acts and singles by band members Greg Allman took the initiative and reunited the band with some talented players on guitar, keyboards and bass, the band after a long gap of 8 years released Seven Turns which was an instant hit with the critics and was considered the comeback for the Allman Brothers.
