The Telluride Bluegrass Festival is a combination of a number of exciting activities starting from the music played on the main stage for the day. The nights are made exciting with the jamming sessions in the condos, bars and even at the campsite. These jamming sessions are referred to as the Nightgrass concerts. Songwriting workshops also take place at the Elks Park Stage conducted by the gurus of Bluegrass. The festival houses their own Telluride band which features the tradition Bluegrass instruments played by revered instrumentalists. In this band Sam Bush plays mandolin, Bela Fleck taking on the banjos, Stuart Duncan plays fiddle and Jerry Douglas is on Dobro. Along with the traditional instruments the bluegrass sound is strengthened by Bryan Sutton’s guitar and Edgar Meyer’s upright Bass. The festival is an out loud declaration of fun and excitement. The festivarians come down here for four days of entertainment. It is a perfect vacation spot with beautiful, panoramic natural beauty.
