Tedeschi Trucks Band is one of the best husband wife duos in the world of music. They are both extremely talented and naturally creative artists. Susan Tedeschi is a wonderful singer whose voice creates magic while Derek Trucks is a talented guitarist who mesmerizes the listener with his performance. The band is composed of Susan Tedeschi who is a vocal lead and also plays guitar while Derek Trucks plays guitar. Other members include Oteil Burbridge as Bass guitarist, Taylor Greenwell and J.J. Johnson on drums and percussions, Mark Rivers and Matt Mattison as harmony vocalists with Maurice Brown playing trumpet. Saunders Sermon plays trombone, Kebbie Williams saxophone while Kofi Burbridge plays keyboards and flute.
Tedeschi Trucks Band was formed in 2010. The duo put their individual careers on a break and started their band. The band is already gaining momentum as both their fans are overjoyed to see them perform together. Though this is not the first time they are grouped together for a performance, it definitely is the first time they are united as a band. Previously they have toured together on “The Derek Truck and Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival” in 2007. Both the artists performed from their solo albums in it. In 2009 both of them were nominated for Grammy Award for their individual albums in the category “Best contemporary Blues Album”. Susan was nominated for “Back to the River” while Derek won the Grammy for “Already Free”.
Tedeschi Trucks Band has recently released their first album “Revelator” on June 7, 2011. This album is the result of hard work and full commitment by the duo. They have declined many offers during the year and a half and focused completely on their upcoming album together. The album has proven its worth and people are appreciating their efforts.
