In the year 1989 Wright and acclaimed British comedy actor Rowen Atkinson acted in a short film made by Wright for which he won an Academy Award. Steven Wright has worked in a number of mainstream films such as Desperately Seeking Susan, Mad About You, Natural Born Killers, The Appointments of Dennis Jennings, So I Married an Axe Murderer, When Stand Up and Son of the Mask.
His solo comedy albums include A Steven Wright Special, One Soldier, When the Leaves Blow Away and I Still Have a Pony. Steven Wright also had a chance to record his voice as a radio DJ for acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs starring fine actors like Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Harvey Keitel and Michael Madsen. Wright regularly appeared on Mad About You which was an extremely popular sitcom in the early 90’s. His latest comedy album till date is I Still Have a Pony which was released in 2007, this album mainly included some material from his previous album called When the Leaves Blown Away, I Still Have a Pony was nominated for a Best Comedy Album Grammy Award. On the Comedy Central list of 100 Greatest Standup Comics Wright is placed at #23. He is also the first comedian to be inducted in the Boston Comedy Hall of Fame.
