Steely Dan Gaucho Tickets
Rock music and rock bands are the backbone of entertainment industry and enjoy popularity and fan following across the globe. Among all these bands, only a few manage to maintain their popularity and quality of their performance through years, like Steely Dan.
Rock band from America, Steely Dan was formed in 1972. Two of the founders and most significant members of this band include Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Soon after its foundation, the band peaked in terms of popularity and enjoyed a great fan following for a long time, especially in late 1970s but unfortunately had a breakup in 1981. After tremendous efforts by its members, the band finally came together again in 1993, and has ever since been loved by its fans just like the old days.
Formation of Steely Dan took place once Fagen heard Becker playing his electric guitar at a café named The Red Balloon in New York. The two met there and soon realized that they shared same musical sense and interests. It was not very late afterwards that the two decided to sing together as a band and believed that it could be a commercial and artistic success. Chevy Chase, who later became a comedy star, also joined them in their earlier formations like The Bad Rock Group and The Leather Canary. The two performed mostly on already famous songs like Hey Grandma, Spoonful and Dandelion, written originally by Moby Grape, Willie Dixon and The Rolling Stones respectively. During those days, as the band members narrate, they would stay up at nights and would not come out of their rooms for days, writing songs and performing them. During those days, as they quote it, they would look like zombies and ghosts.
After struggling for some time during their initial years, Steely Dan was finally recognized among public in the nearby areas. The founder members have always been perfectionist and generally took a lot of time before finalizing any composition. The band released its debut album titled Can’t Buy a Thrill released in 1972. The album was a huge hit and was soon followed by their second album titled Countdown to Ecstasy that also turned out to be a mega success. Both of these albums focused on the character of Steely Dan as a band and did not highlight the individual singers much. Soon afterwards, the band released their next LP titled Pretzel Logic and then Katy Lied in 1974 and 1975 respectively. Some of the songs contained in these LPs attracted the attention of a huge audience towards Steely Dan and by mid 1970s the band was recognized among the critics as a successful name in rock music. Nevertheless the fast growing financial position of the band created some controversies among the members of the band, especially the founder members i. e. Becker and Fagen. The two somehow managed to resolve their issues and kept working along, releasing their new projects titled The Royal Scam and Aja in 1976 and 1977 respectively, both being critically and commercially acclaimed.
After the release of Aja in 1976, the band’s characteristic perfectionism was seen at its best, with Steely Dan working for a whole year on their new album, switching from one studio to another, changing their technical experts and equipment, in an effort to find just the right sound for their new album. As a result, they could record only 7 tracks for their new album titled Gaucho and released it in 1977. Nevertheless, the new release was a mega hit, with every single song being a masterpiece, and taking the popularity of Steely Dan sky high.
Unfortunately after the release of Gaucho, the band could no longer continue working together, and had a breakup. It was reunited in 1993 and has ever since been working together, making great music and having more and more fans coming to them with every release. For any rock music fan, Steely Dan Gaucho Tickets are the gateway towards the ultimate musical entertainment and an excitement of a lifetime!
