Two headlining bands this year were alternative rock group from California named Weezer and Canadian new wave and post punk group Metric. The attendance was higher than last year with around 16000 music lovers attending the festival.
In 2012 the festival format was changed and four different stages were set namely Meadow, Garibaldi, Woodshed and Stawamus. The lineup was huge with a number of bands ad artists from Canada as well as the US namely Rich Hope, Good for Grapes, The Sheepdogs, Young Pacific, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Current Swell. This time there was one headlining band and that was the famous folk and indie rock music band from Ontario called The Tragically Hip. This year 22700 fans attended the event. In 2013 the final stage allocation has not been done yet but the bands that have confirmed their appearance at the Squamish Valley Music Festival are A Tribe Called Red, Queen of the Stone Age, Band of Horses, Vampire Weekend, Young the Giant, Fitz and the Tantrums, Dustin Bentall and the Smokes The Funk Hunters, The Heavy, Pretty Lights, Matt Mays, The Matinee and Gang Signs. Like in the past this year the overall fan attendance is expected to increase even more.
