Soul Rebel Brass Band is an eight member music ensemble from New Orleans. Their distinctive sound is a blend of the rock, soul and funk genres, incorporated within a hip hop sensibility with respect to the rich brass tradition of their native land. The Soul Rebels include percussionists Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss, trombonists Corey Peyton and Paul Robertson, trumpet players Julian Gosin and Marcus Hubbard, sousaphonist Edward Lee Jr and saxophonist Erion Williams. Soul Rebels Brass Band tickets are up for grabs as the band prepares to host a magnificent dance party with their hardcore and cheerful music beats.

The band was formed by Derrick Moss and Lumar LeBlanc who met each other as members of the Young Olympia Brass Band led by the famous musician Harold Dejan. Inspired by listening to a pop tune on radio the two decided to create a unique musical style that merged various contemporary genres into the jazz tradition of New Orleans. The duo began to perform at various clubs and venues across the city until they got the opportunity to play the opening act for Cyril Neville at the famous New Orleans club called Tipitina's. It was here that Cyril Neville labeled them as ‘the Soul Rebels’ which eventually made for the title of the band. Soon they discovered a bunch of young enthusiastic musicians from various corners of the city who shared a common ideology of experimental music.

With a lineup of eight members, the Soul Rebels Brass Band now performed at various venues such as the popular local club, Le Bon Temps Roule. The band was able to build a strong fan base within a short period of time. The increasing demand of their live acts soon paved their way into the recording studios.

The Soul Rebels have produced a total of seven records till date. These include ‘Let your mind be free’, ‘No More Parades, ‘Rebelution’, ‘No place like home: Live in Orleans’, ‘Urban Legend’, ‘More Jams from No More Prades’ and the most recent album ‘Unlock your Mind’.

‘Unlock your Mind’ is a collection of lively catchy beats with special guest appearances by a number of popular music artists such as Trombone Shorty and Cyril Neville. It has received both critical and commercial acclaim all over. The record peaked at number 5 on the iTune Jazz Charts and topped the Hip Hop playlists of CMJ magazine.

The Soul Rebels Brass Band have toured and performed across several countries around the world.  They have shared the stage with renowned music artists belonging to various genres. These include Metallica, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Arcade Fire, The Roots, Seal , Counting Crows, James Brown and Green Day to name a few.

The ensemble has also been a part of numerous music festivals such as the Wanee Festival, Bonnaroo, Forest Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl, New Orleans and the famous Montreal Jazz Festival where they entertained an audience of almost fifty thousand.

In a music career of over two decades, the Soul Rebels have thrice won the prestigious New Orleans Big Easy Award. Besides, they have earned several award nominations in different categories like Best Album of the Year, Best Brass Band of the Year and Best Brass Album of the Year.
