Shrine Circus has found immense fame in the US and the first event was held in 1906 in Detroit, Michigan. The circus was organized by the Moslem Shriners and took place at the Light Guard Armory. Almost 3000 patrons attended the circus and it paved way for many of such ventures. The purpose of Shrine Circus is to raise money for Shrine sponsored events and activities, as well as membership campaigns. The idea was adopted by many Shrine Centers and today it has become one of the most popular fundraisers. Shrine Circus is not an individual entity and in fact can be used for any Shrine sponsored circus. In the US alone there are more than 20 active Shrine Circuses who bring quality entertainment to the masses. Shrine Circuses are the highest attended events in North America and take place with different formats. Some circuses are arena based, whereas others take place under the big top, travelling to different cities. There are some circuses that have been running for almost ten generations but have adopted a more contemporary approach to meet the latest standards.

Toledo residents can look forward to the Zenobia Shrine Circus that will be held at the Seagate Center. It will be staging its 64th annual show and people have started buying their Shrine Circus tickets. This latest installment will bring enjoyment for the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan area. The very popular Jordan World Circus will be returning to the city, treating the locals to breathtaking acts and fantastic segments. The 2015 acts will feature the Alvarez Family, Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team, the beloved clown Nino and a lot of elephants.

The 69th Annual Aad Shrine Circus will be coming to Duluth and Bemidji and the events will take place at the Amsoil Arena and Sanford Center. Many new acts will be introduced this year and the residents can’t wait for the circus to start.

The 62nd Annual Kora Shrine Circus has announced many events in Augusta, ME and the Augusta Civic Center is expecting jam-packed attendance. The family extravaganza has entertained both the children and adults, with shows taking place in Augusta, Lewiston and Portland since 1953. The Hamid Circus will be taking the lead this year for the Kora Shrine Circus, featuring elephants and tigers. Other acts that will keep the audience at the edge of their seats include Opulent Opalesced Overutre, Shrine Circus Aerial Sirens and Miss Mychelle Hurtling Hoops.
