Alpha hit the US Billboard 200 at 14 while entering the US Top Rock Albums at 6. The singles Driven and Beg to Differ reached number 10 and 33 on Mainstream Rock Charts. The former along with Feed featured in the video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. Furthermore, the 2008’s release peaked at number 19 on US Billboard 200 spawning hit singles Prodigal Son, The Past and Inside. The first two hitting the Mainstream Rock Tracks at number 19 and 27 respectively.
 
The album landed on US Billboard 200 at 19, Top Hard Rock Albums at 12, Top Rock Albums at 9 and Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums at 6. Hence meeting with a positive critical response from TuneLab Music, Live Metal and Bullz-Eye. The album also showcased some collaborative effort featuring Chris Daughtry and Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge. Delivering the songs Sorrow, The Past and Hope. Following the release of the album, Sevendust also landed an opportunity of touring with Black Stone Cherry twice. Later in 2009 before the release of their eighth album the band made headlines with End of Summer Scorcher which saw performances by others including Five Finger Death Punch, Shjadows Fall, Corey Taylor and Otep. In the eyes of many critics, the album has been a helping hand in changing the image of the band as far as the sound is concerned. Chapter VII: Hope of Sorrow showed the flip side of Sevendust giving a pleasant combination of aggressive, in-your-face songs accompanied by some mellow heart-felt tunes to complement each other.
 
Cold Day Memory hit the shelves in 2011 gaining instant success as it reached number 12 on the US Billboard 200 while claiming 4^th, 2^nd and 3^rd spot on Rock Albums, Alternative Albums and Hard Rock Albums. Thus selling around 27,000 copies in its first week of release. Unraveling, Forever, Last Break and Ride Insane are the singles from the album while the first three peaking at number 7, 18 and 32 on Hot Mainstream Rock tracks. Unraveling also proved to be the highest charting song by the band leaving behind their previous hits Enemy and Driven. There is no denying that this album has been one of the most successful efforts by the band since their inception. Consequently receiving 9/10, 8/10 and 8.5/10 stars from TuneLab Music, PopMatters and 411mania. 411mania.com described the album as “the best Sevendust album since seasons in terms of lyrics, emotion, guitar work and drums”.
