The Santana Story
Santana came together in 1967 in San Francisco. In 1969, the band played Woodstock and released their debut album. By the time they started recording their fourth album, Caravanserai, there had been several lineup changes in the band.
This was followed by a period in which the band wasn’t as commercially successful as they once had been. They then went on a seven year hiatus in which they didn’t record any material. While on hiatus, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
The following year the band released Supernatural which marked the return of their commercial success. The album was certified 15 times platinum in the US and sold over 30 million copies worldwide. It also won nine Grammy Awards including Album of the Year.
The ‘Santana IV’ Tour
Santana IV was started in the spring of 2016 and saw the original lineup of the band reunite. This marks the first time in 45 years since this lineup recorded material together.
