The Festival Becomes a Success Story
Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler are the masterminds behind the Rolling Loud festival, which made its debut in February 2015. That year, the show wasn’t quite profitable. It was plagued with technical difficulties, mandatory shut-downs and delays due to rain. However, fans went home happy and felt that the event was worth attending. Over the years, the festival has managed to become successful, thanks to its exciting lineup of in-demand performers. Now, Rolling Loud also hosts festivals in Southern and Northern California and plans to expand in Croatia, Australia, Mexico, China, Japan, London, and New York.
Rolling Loud Miami 2020 Lineup
Previously, some of the biggest names in the hip-hop industry have taken the Rolling Loud stage – some of them include Gucci Mane, Migos, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Lil B. To learn more about this year’s artist line-up, keep on reading!
Hakim Mayers, widely known as A$AP Rocky, will be headlining the first day of the event. The talented rapper, director, producer, model, and actor shot to fame when he released his mix tape, Live. Love. A$AP in 2011. Eventually, he signed a deal with Sony Entertainment, RCA Records, and Polo Grounds Music. His debut studio album, Long.Live.A$AP, was released in 2013 and was showered with immense praise. It debuted atop of the Billboard 200 charts and helped to establish A$AP Rocky as a promising star. He continued his success streak with the release of his sophomore album, At.Long.Last.A$AP (2015) which debuted at #1. The record was co-produced by Danger Mouse and featured guest appearances by several high profile artists including M.I.A, Future, Kanye West, and Rod Stewart. His recent project, Testing (2018) features collaborations with famed musicians such as Frank Ocean, Kodak Black, French Montana, and Kid Cudi. Although this album received mixed reviews, he was still praised for his musical experimentation.
You will get to watch Travis Scott’s performances on the second day of the music festival. The Houston-based hip-hop singer became popular in the early 2010s, thanks to his half-rapped/half-sung heavily auto-tuned songs. Over the years, he has released a string of successful albums, some of which include Rodeo, Astroworld, and Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. He has also assisted super stars such as Rihanna in producing mega-hits like ‘Bitch Better Have My Money.’ The talented rapper has also landed featured spots on Kanye West’s ‘FML,’ Rihanna’s ‘Woo,’ and Wiz Kalifa’s ‘Bake Sale.’ He also appeared on ‘Pick Up the Phone’ - a collaboration between Quavo and Young Thug. Talking about his music style, Scott stated that he has been influenced by the likes of Thom Yorke, T.I., Tame Impala, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Bon Iver.
The Texas rapper is going to headline the third day of the event. Post Malone has gained acclaim for his extraordinary genre bending abilities – his songs incorporate a variety of genres such as rock, pop, country, and hip-hop. After releasing ‘White Iverson’ in 2015, the rising star came out with his debut album, Stoney (2016). Supported by the hits single ‘Congratulations,’ the album went on to become a commercial success. He continued his commercial dominance with the release of Beerbongs & Bentleys in 2018. The album not only broke streaming records but also debuted at #1 on Billboard 200. Some of the hit tracks on the album include ‘Psycho’ and ‘Rockstar.’ In his most recent studio effort (Hollywood’s Bleeding) he has adopted a more rock/indie-pop sound.
