Finding success with Pink Floyd
Roger Waters with Nick Mason formed Pink Floyd in 1965 and completed the lineup by recruiting, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and David Gilmour. They made their debut two years later in 1967 and till 1972 released seven studio albums before they came out with their record, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ which earned them international success. It went multi-platinum in many countries and was certified diamond in the United States. After six years, the group released, ‘The Wall’ which was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of the ‘Album of the Year’ in 1981.
Departure from the group
In 1985, creative tensions grew between Roger Waters and Pink Floyd which resulted in him leaving the band. He began his solo career and went on to churn out three albums out of which, ‘Radio K.A.O.S’ and ‘Amused to Death’ went silver in the United Kingdom. Waters also spawned two soundtracks and three live records. He is now embarking on a North American tour titled, ‘Us + Them’ which will commence in the summer of 2017.
