The band consists of six members including Danyel Morgan, the bass guitarist; Lenesha Randolph, the vocalist; Marcus Randolph, the drummer; Brett Andrew Haas, the keyboardist and guitarist.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band released "Fool in the Rain" in collaboration with O.A.R and performed it live in August 2009. "Colorblind" is his third studio album that was released in 2006. 'Ain't Nothing Wrong With That' became extensively popular and was used by Discovery channel in their promo.

Another song was used by the college football in 2007. "We Walk This Road" is the fourth and the latest album that has been released by the band. "We Walk This Road" mainly consists of the African-American music which covers a whole timeline of different eras. According to the band members, the main focus was to produce great music and great songs which could connect the history to the present time. Also, it says what the band wants to convey to the world. The message is conveyed through the songs. Music from the early nineties was collaborated with the modern music so that the goal of connecting the history to the present time could be achieved. T Bone Burnett was the man who helped produce the album the way the band members wanted it. The album has touched the roots of the music.
