Riot is a heavy metal band from America that came into existence in the year 1975 in New York City. Mark Reale is the founder member of this band and since the bands formation it has become one of the most popular metal bands in the world. In the early nineteen eighties it reached to the top and ever since its graph has been rising and the Riot has made a huge fan following for itself. After passing through a struggling phase Riot signed a contract with the Fire Sign Records owned by Arnell & Loeb.
Riot became successful due to their dedication towards their music and under the guidance of Fire Sign Records they were able to record their very first album entitled Rock City. In the time when this band was playing the kind of music they produced was so different from the contemporary music style that initially it got difficult for the general public to reconcile with the idea of listening to this type of rock music. This proved to be an obstacle for the band in gaining the kind of recognition they have been wanting to for some time.
In the late 1970s a movement to promote heavy metal music took pace and this revolution was known as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Under the influence of this revolution the Riot band was instantly spotted by the very famous DJ of the seventies named Neal Kay. He suddenly realized the potential of this band and decided to promote their debut album in the best possible way. He established the bands reputation as an extremely talented and newly emerging heavy metal band in Europe. People belonging to all parts of the United Kingdom bought the copies of this album and this proved to be a driving force for the Riot. Their work was appreciated by the people and they started recognizing this as a new form of music. It became popular especially with the youngsters. After getting a considerable amount of popularity they recorded and released their second album titled Narita under the supervision of the Fire Sign Records. After some time they took this album on the US Texas tour along with Sammy Hagar.
