Ringo Starr born as "Richard Starkey" in 1940, gained international stardom after he joined the most influential and celebrated group, The Beatles, in 1962. He replaced Pete Best as drummer, and quickly marked a dominant position in the band. His creative style and skills led the band towards new dimensions. Apart from drumming, Starr also wrote songs for the band including "Octopus’s Garden," "Don’t Pass Me By," and "What Goes On." He was also the lead vocalist on several popular songs including "Act Naturally," "Yellow Submarine," and "With a Little Help from My Friends."  Starr received critical appraise for his drumming and has been ranked at number five on the Rolling Stone’s "Best Drummer of All Time" list (2011). The artist has appeared in several documentaries and films revolving around the Beatles. After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Starr successfully launched a solo career. He has managed to release over twenty albums including fifteen studio albums that have sold millions of copies across the globe winning several awards and accolades. He started touring with Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band in 1989.

After the end of The Beatles, Starr began his solo career by releasing his first solo album "Sentimental Journey," (1970). The album was well received and it garnered rave reviews. His second album "Beaucoups of Blues" was released the same year and followed similar success. In 1973, Starr released his most successful solo album "Ringo," that peaked charts in Canada and secured the second spot in US. The album was certified platinum in US and Gold in UK. His next album "Goodbye Vienna," also managed to reach Gold status in US and Silver in UK. The artist has since the released several studio albums including "Bad Boy" (1978), "Time Takes Time" (1992), "Liverpool 8" (2008), and Ringo (2012).
