Music has given us some of the most amazing singers of all time that have simply mesmerized us with the sheer strength of what they had to offer and they hardly get any more legendary than Randy Travis. Randy has been at the top of the musical food chain for decades and has cemented his iconic status with one hit after another for three decades. He is now on his latest road trip and you can catch this wonderfully gifted artist live by simply buying your Randy Travis tickets.
Randy Bruce Traywick now known as Randy Travis was born on 4th May, 1959 at Marshville, North Carolina. His father was a music enthusiast so Randy was born with a love for music in his genes. He took to learning guitar when he was only eight years old and tow years down the line he was playing locally with his brother at various clubs. By the time 1975 came around Randy Travis had gone solo and took part in a talent competition at the Country Club USA based in Charlotte. Randy won the competition and impressed the owner of the club Elizabeth Hatcher to such an extent that she hired him as a cook and a signer for the club. The stint continued till the end of that decade and provided Randy with valuable experience on how to perform on stage. Elizabeth had become his manager by that time and the two moved to Nashville in the early part of the 1980’s.
Randy Travis started his career as a country music in Nashville but without too much success at first. He recorded an album, independently, titled Live at the Nashville Palace in the year 1982 which earned him his first recording contract and that too with the Warner Bros. Records. That was the break Randy had always been looking for and on insistence of his label he changed his stage name from Randy Ray to Randy Travis. Randy released his first song titled On the Other Hand in 1985 and followed that up with his first major hit track 1982. On the Other Hand was then re-launched in 1986 and that ended up being Randy’s first ever number one hit. Later that year he came out with his debut album Storms of Life which became an instant hit as soon as it hit the music stores everywhere. The album not only went on to sell a staggering four million copies but also gave country music a new direction.
The song Forever and Ever from his next album titled Always and Forever kick-started the neo-traditionalist country era that we see now. The album was a huge hit that remained at the top spot for an unbelievable forty three weeks. That album also earned him a Grammy and multiple AMA, CMA awards. His next album Old 8x10 came out on 12th July, 1988 and tracks like Honky Tonk Moon, Is it Still Over and Deeper Than the Holler all went to grab the top spot. More Grammys, CMA and ACM Awards came his way to cement Randy Travis’s status as a sensational country music performer. This was the time when he was at the peak of his career and Randy Travis tickets were selling like hot cakes everywhere. 1994 came with the release of his album This Is Me and its hit song Whisper My name. He followed that up with moving to DreamWorks Nashville to release epics like The Hole, Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man and Out of my Bones etc.
Randy Travis then shifted his focus on Gospel Music to release albums like Inspirational Journey, Rise and Shine and Worship & Faith etc. His stint as a Gospel singer earned him numerous accolades and awards including the prestigious Dove award multiple times and the Album of the Year thrice. Randy’s total sales have exceeded the twenty million mark which ranks him as one of the most successful country music singers of all time. His incredible haul of seven Grammys, ten ACM, ten AMA, eight Dove and five CMA awards puts him right up there in the selected company of the greatest performers in history. Now that this legendary artists is on his way to you make sure you give him the kind of reception he deserves and the only way to do that is by buying Randy Travis tickets.
