The lineup of 112 includes Quinnes “Q” Parker, Daron Jones, Mavin “Slim” Scandrick and Michael Keith. The group started its journey in 1991 and found success after moving to Bad Boy Records. It was during their contract with the label that the quartet became associates of the Notorious B.I.G.

Early Career

The members of 112 began their careers as a group called Forte. They were performing at local talent shows and churches, before being discovered by executives, Kevin Wales and Courtney Sills. The two of them got the group an audition for Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs and his record label, Bad Boy Records. The band signed on with the label. The audition was held at Atlanta’s 112 Club and the group changed their name to 112 as homage to club.

Mainstream Success:

Under Bad Boy Records, 112 released three albums, 112 (1996), Room 112 (1998) and Part III (2001). The records were commercial hits and were certified as platinum. In 2002, the group moved to Def Jam records in a bid to get more creative control over their work. They released the albums Hot & Wet (2003) and Pleasure & Pain (2005) under the label, both of which did well on the charts. The group hasn’t released an album since 2005, but has announced that they are currently working on new material.

You can catch 112 live in concert, alongside some of their Bad Boy Records mates to pay homage to the late, great Notorious B.I.G. All you need are 112 Toronto tickets.
